I left college with a ton of knowledge, a lot of drive, and no specific or obvious path towards a career. What did I do in college? I learned how to think critically, to read well and thoroughly, and to apply what I had learned to new experiences - I learned how to learn.
I have been learning ever since, in all of my various positions. These jobs led to a career in which the learning never stops and the challenges come fast and furious - Project Management.
Anything can be a project. Any problem can be solved. Both projects and problems (obstacles, issues, roadblocks, whatever term you want to use) require organized, committed management to be resolved with success.
My fantastic wife and I are raising two girls - the best gifts that have ever come into my life. I came to California from the Chicago area in order to finally live in a warm climate. I was lucky enough to meet my wife while in graduate school and neither of us wished to return to the midwest after life in one of the best climates on earth.
Prior to my IT Project Management career, I graduated from the University of Notre Dame and then worked for several small, family-owned companies that taught me how to do everything a business needs to survive. I found out early on that I was more willing than others to face down tough problems and get them fixed.
AboutJeff
What some happy clients and vendors say:
No matter how complex the project, it is a blessing to have Jeff on your team. He has a strong commitment to achieving objectives as efficiently as possible and always stays committed to providing a quality product to the end-user.
Jeff is also a problem-solver who views obstacles as area of opportunity. He looks for the answers and fixes an issue quickly instead of dwelling on the the negative. In working with Jeff, it is obvious that he is an extremely fast learner who can figure out the path to success even when he has limited or no experience with the software with which he is working.
He understands and lives by the basic project management principle that you must clearly identify your goals before you can plan to achieve them successfully.
- Maria Calderon, Co-Worker and Internal Customer
Jeff provides his clients the best mix of understanding their unique business requirements and then communicating them back to the vendors during an ERP evaluation that I have ever experienced. He is able to focus on what matters to his clients and then drive vendors to address the proper solution. His value continues during an implementation, ensuring that focus is kept on the key business drivers and scope.
- Lee Palmer, ERP Services Vendor, 2010
Jeff worked on our Oracle implementation as an outside independent project manager to assist the two internal project managers. Jeff was usually one of first on site and last to leave each day. He showed dedication to getting the project done on time and on budget, working well with the companies team as well as the consultants to stay on task. Jeff was instrumental in getting issues resolved. Jeff kept the management team well informed.
